Description

In 1970, Roger Metzger, originally from the Sarreguemines region, founded one of the very first aluminium joinery companies in France, starting out in his garage in Montigny-lès-Metz. Aluminium was a real innovation at a time when wood was still the preferred material for joiners. In 1974, Bernard Ritz joined Roger Metzger and successively took charge of roller shutter installation and then manufacturing. The 1980s marked a new phase of growth in the company’s history: it was during this period that the two pioneers, Roger and Bernard, decided not only to develop new product ranges such as pergolas, doors, windows and aluminium secondary windows, but also to create the very first aluminium conservatories in Lorraine. Faced with a growing number of orders, the company needed more space and moved to its current address, thereby expanding its customer base into Luxembourg and Alsace. Luxembourg customers increasingly travelled to Metz to purchase Metzger products, which perfectly matched their expectations. In 2012, in order to be closer to them, Metzger Luxembourg S.A. was established at La Poudrerie du Luxembourg, in the municipality of Kockelscheuer. A valuable proximity, appreciated by all.
