The missions of Femmes en Détresse asbl are numerous and varied. Over the years, 15 different services have been established in order to fulfil the objectives set out in Article 2 of the association’s statutes:
“The purpose of the association is to provide women, their children, and young girls with effective protection against violence through the development and management of shelters for women and girls in distress, as well as information and counselling centres. (...)
It contributes to improving women’s living conditions by helping them integrate into economic and social life, providing them with psychological, legal and social support, and offering them specific training. (...)
The association may also carry out any activities and undertake any acts or operations that may contribute to promote, or facilitate the achievement of its social purpose.”
